Parking in Chauvigny is generally straightforward, except on Saturday mornings. During the tourist season, cars are not allowed in the medieval town. Use one of the car parks mentioned above. From the medieval town, the shortest route is towards the Ch\u00e2teau des \u00c9v\u00eaques, home to the G\u00e9ants du Ciel bird show. Below Place des Ch\u00e2taigniers, walk down Rue du Crime and under the small wooden bridge. There are no cash machines in the medieval town. In the lower town, Carrefour Market is on the main street, opposite Notre-Dame church, and opens every day. There are also three bakeries, all closed on Mondays. In the lower town, Place du Champ-de-Foire has space for hundreds of cars. It is closed to parking on Saturday mornings for the main market, so plan to park elsewhere.
Outside the tourist season, you can usually park in the medieval town on Rue Saint-Pierre, Place du Vieux-March\u00e9 or Place des Ch\u00e2taigniers, or in the large public Parking de Bretagne at the end of Rue Saint-Pierre.
In July and August, a bollard normally prevents cars from entering the medieval town. Use Parking de Bretagne instead.<\/p><\/div><\/details>Getting to the medieval town<\/summary>
From Parking de Bretagne, the centre of the medieval town is about a five-minute walk away.
